Refuge is officially becoming part of
Central Peninsula Church in Foster City!

After months of prayer, heartfelt conversations within our church, with outside counsel and with the pastors and elders of Central Peninsula Church (CPC), we believe the Lord is leading our Refuge community to join the CPC community in Foster City.

We are grateful that CPC shares our heart for people, our theological foundations, and our desire to see lives transformed throughout the Peninsula and beyond, and we wholeheartedly believe this next season will be a one where our community can experience stability, belonging, and new opportunities to grow, serve, and make a difference in the lives of others.

What will the transition look like?

Sunday, January 4th: Our 1st official Sunday with CPC

January 4th will be our 1st official Sunday as parts of the CPC church body! Then, on January 11th, CPC will host a lunch so that we can get to know the staff and elders, hear more about CPC’s mission & vision, ask questions, and learn how each of us can get plugged in to our new church home. It is their hope and ours that we will find CPC to be a warm, welcoming community where we can grow in faith and life as well as us our gifts and passions to serve within our new church family.

Why wait until January? December is always a full and busy season for churches, and this timing allows us to begin the transition with clarity and focus rather than trying to navigate a significant change during the holidays. Starting fresh in the new year helps us to step into this season rested and ready.

December 1-31: Throughout the month of December pastor Jeremy will be on sabbatical before joining the CPC pastoral team on January 4th. Refuge will not be holding services or Groups in December, but we will continue praying-for & caring-for one another, staying connected through WhatsApp (details below), and worshipping at CPC on Sunday mornings (Hebrews 10:24-25).

After 6 challenging— but meaningful & powerful— years of planting Refuge, we're praying that this is a sweet & restful month for each of you, and that God uses this time to pour fresh life into your hearts, minds, bodies & souls!
